When you’re starting out in Photoshop, it can be helpful to learn how to vignette. Vignetting is a technique used to improve the appearance of images by reducing the amount of light that hits the screen. To do this, you’ll need to create a layer called “Vignette.” This layer will contain all of your vignetting adjustments. To start, make sure that your layer is set to “Overlay.” Next, select the “Gradient tool” and click on the black line at the bottom of the palette. You’ll then be able to choose a gradient from one of three options: linear, radial or Gradient Overlay. If you want your vignette to be more subtle, choose radial instead. If you want it more pronounced, choose linear. Once you’ve made your choice, click on OK and then drag the gradient up or down as needed. Finally, make sure that your layer is set to “Opacity” and drag down so that all of your vignetting adjustments are hidden behind the opacity mask.
