If you’re like most people, you probably use a ruler to measure distances and angles in your day-to-day work. But did you know that you can also use a ruler in Photoshop? Here’s how:
- Open Photoshop and create a new document.
- Select the rulers tool (R) from the Tools panel and drag it onto your document.
- Position the rulers so that they’re evenly spaced across the width of your document, and then click on one of the rulers to select it.
- Click on the Options bar at the top of the screen and select Ruler Options from the list.
- In the Ruler Options dialog box, set the following options: Width: This is the width of your ruler in pixels (px). Height: This is the height of your ruler in pixels (px). Ruler Style: This determines how your ruler will be displayed in Photoshop – either as an actual line or as a grid with squares equal to 1 px wide and 1 px high (or any other value that makes sense to you).
- Click OK to close the Ruler Options dialog box and return to Photoshop.
- To use your ruler, simply position it where you want it on your document, and then use its measurements to make adjustments to your image! ..
