If you want to trace a picture in Illustrator, there are a few different ways to go about it. One way is to use the Rectangular Marquee Tool and draw a rectangle around the part of the picture you want to trace. Then, use the Direct Selection Tool (A) to select the entire rectangle and press Command+J (Ctrl+J on Mac) to open the Tracing Options dialog box. In this dialog box, you can choose between tracing an outline or tracing pixels. If you want to trace an outline, make sure that the “Outline Mode” is set to “All.” If you want to trace pixels, make sure that the “Pixels Mode” is set to “All.” Another way to trace a picture in Illustrator is by using the Pen Tool (P). First, draw a line around the part of the picture that you want to trace. Then, use the Pencil Tool (N) and drag along this line until you have created a copy of the area that you drew with your line tool. Finally, use Command+J (Ctrl+J on Mac) to open the Tracing Options dialog box and choose either “Outline Mode” or “Pixels Mode.” ..
