There are a few things you need before starting the tie-down process: a tree, some wire, and a car.

  1. Cut the tree into pieces that will fit comfortably in the car’s trunk. Make sure each piece is of equal size so that it won’t interfere with the tie-down process.
  2. Thread one end of the wire around each of the tree’s branches and through the hole in the top of the trunk. Be sure to make a tight knot to hold everything together.
  3. Place one end of the wire around each of your car’s windowsill posts and tuck it behind them so that it forms an “X” shape. Make sure that both ends are connected by another wire (or by using a bungee cord).
  4. Tug on one end of each wire until it forms a loop around your car’s post (or until it becomes too tight to hold). You’re now ready to tie down your Christmas tree!
