If you’re like most people, you probably don’t know how to start your car without an ignition switch. In fact, many people don’t even know what an ignition switch is. If you’re not sure how to start your car without an ignition switch, here are some tips to help you out:

  1. Look for a manual or electronic key fob that has a keyhole on one side and an igniter on the other. The keyhole side should have a small hole in it so you can insert the key. The igniter side should have a small black button with a white circle around it. Push the button until the circle turns green.
  2. If your car has an automatic transmission, insert the key into the “auto” position and turn it over so that the “manual” position is now facing you. Push down on the “manual” pedal until you hear a sound like gears turning (this is called “clutching”). Then turn the “auto” pedal back to “manual.”
