If you’re ever stuck on a hill and can’t seem to get your car to go down, there’s one sure way to fix it: reverse the manual transmission. This is a relatively easy process, and it’s especially useful if the hill is too steep or if the car just won’t go down at all. To do this, you’ll need some tools and a bit of luck. First, remove the key from the ignition. Then, use a wrench to remove the four screws that hold the shift lever in place. Next, take off the shift lever itself (carefully so as not to damage anything). Finally, use pliers or a screwdriver to pry open the gearshift cover (it should be held together by two clips). Now you’ll need to get your hands on some tools. The first is an adjustable wrench. With it in hand, you’ll want to loosen both of the screws that hold the gearshift in place (you can do this by using one hand while holding onto one of the screws with your other hand). Once these are loose, you can then remove the gearshift cover (carefully so as not to damage anything). Now you’ll need some help getting your car back down on its original track. You’ll need two people: one will be responsible for helping pull your car back up while another person holds onto something underneath so that your car doesn’t fall off its original track. Once everything is back in place, reverse the manual transmission again and enjoy your new ride!
