If you’ve just had your car serviced and the battery was replaced, there are a few things you need to do before you can drive your car. First, make sure the new battery is properly installed. Second, reset the car’s computer by following these steps:

  1. Turn off the car and remove the key from the ignition.
  2. Open the hood and locate the computer module near the engine. It will have a green light on it.
  3. Push down on one of the connectors near the top of the module until it pops out of its socket (it should only take a gentle push).
  4. Hold onto both ends of the connector as you replace it in its socket, making sure that it is seated correctly and that no wires are touching any other parts of the module (you may need to use a screwdriver to help push it into place). Replace all four connectors on this side of the computer module.
  5. Close up your hood and turn on your car by pressing down on the key again - you should now be able to start your car without having to reset any settings first! ..
