If you’re looking to add some excitement to your next pinewood derby race, consider wheeling your car around the track on wheels. Here’s how to do it:
- Start by cutting a small hole in the bottom of a plastic milk jug or other similar container. This will serve as the car’s wheel well.
- Cut four pieces of 1-inch PVC pipe about 12 inches long and slide them into the jug one at a time, making sure they are snug against each other and the sides of the jug. The ends of the pipes should be pointing outwards from the top and bottom of the jug, respectively.

- Fit one end of each piece of pipe into one end of a short piece (about 2 inches) of PVC pipe that you cut earlier. This will form an axle for your wheeled car! Make sure that both ends of each axle are securely fastened to either side of your milk jug using screws or nails—you don’t want your car flying off during competition! ..
