If you’re like most kids, you love pinewood derby cars. And if you’re like most kids, you don’t know how to put axles on them. Well, here’s how:
- Start by cutting a hole in the bottom of the car that’s big enough to fit the axle through. Make sure the hole is centered on the car so it will balance correctly when it’s finished.
- Next, take your axle and fit it into the hole in the bottom of the car. Make sure it’s lined up correctly and that it’s tight against the car.
- Now take your wheel and fit it onto the axle. Be sure to line up the holes in both pieces so they match up perfectly. If they don’t match up perfectly, you can use a screwdriver to make them match up before tightening down your wheel onto the axle with a wrench.
- Finally, take your other end of your axle and fit it into one of the holes on your car body (the one closest to where your wheel is). Again, make sure everything is lined up correctly and tightened down with a wrench or screwdriver ..
