If you’re like most people, you probably outline your layers in Photoshop by hand. But what if you want to automate the process? There are a few different ways to do this, and each has its own advantages and disadvantages. In this article, we’ll outline the three most common methods: using a layer style, using a shape layer, and using a pathfinder. Using a layer style is the simplest way to outline your layers. Just create a new layer style (click on the New Layer Style button in the Layers palette), and set the properties as follows: Name: Layer Style 1 Style: Outline Color: Black The black color will outline all of your layers. To make the outline more subtle, you can adjust the opacity of the layer style (see below). You can also use other colors for your layer style; just remember that they’ll be applied to all of your layers.
