Illustrator is a great program for creating illustrations. However, there are times when you need to disguise your work in order to protect it from being seen by others. In this article, we will be discussing how to mask your illustrations in Illustrator. The first step is to create a new layer on the canvas. Name this layer Mask and set its properties as follows: Opacity: 100% Filter: None In the next step, we will need to add some basic shapes to our mask. We will use rectangles and circles for our masks. First, create a new Rectangle shape and name it Mask Rectangle. Set its properties as follows: Opacity: 0% Width: 10px Height: 10px Next, we will need to create a new Circle shape and name it Mask Circle. Set its properties as follows: Opacity: 100% Width: 20px Height: 20px Now that we have our basic shapes created, we can start adding some color to them. To do this, we will use the following steps:
- Create a new Layer called Color and set its properties as follows: opacity : 0% ; width : 100%; height : 100%; fill : black; }
- Add some basic colors to the Layer and name them Red, Green, Blue (RGB), etc.: Red = 255; Green = 128; Blue = 0; }
- Click on the OK button to close the Layer and return to your drawing board. Now that you have masked your illustrations in Illustrator, you can start working on your project!
