There are a few things you can do to make text a path in Illustrator. First, select the Path tool and click on the line that starts at the bottom of the canvas and ends at the top. This will create a path that is perpendicular to the canvas. Next, select the Line tool and click on one of the lines that you just created. This will create a line that is parallel to the path you just created. Finally, select the Polygonal tool and click on one of the lines that you just created. This will create a polygonal shape that is perpendicular to both of your paths.
