If you’re looking for a fun activity to do with your kids this summer, making a paper racing car might be the perfect solution. All you need is some paper, some scissors, and a little imagination. Here’s how to do it:
- Start by cutting out a circle of paper about the size of a quarter.
- Next, cut out two identical circles from the remaining paper. Make sure they’re both the same size and shape so they’ll fit snugly inside the first circle.
- Place one of the circles inside the first one and use your fingers to press down evenly on all sides. Then cut off any excess paper around the edge of both circles.
- Next, fold up one side of the second circle so it covers half of the first one’s edge (see photo). Then fold up the other side so it covers the other half of that edge (see photo). Now use your fingers to press down evenly on all sides again (see photo). This will create a “seam” where both circles meet (see photo). Don’t worry if it’s not perfect – we’ll fix that later!
- Finally, use your scissors to trim off any excess folded-up paper around each edge of both circles (see photo). You now have a racecar ready to go! ..
