If you’re ever driving in a cold weather environment and you notice your car has a strange smell, it may be because of refrigerant. The refrigerant is used to keep your car running cool, and if it’s not properly removed from the car, it could cause problems. Here are some tips on how to let refrigerant out of your car:

  1. Open the hood of the car and remove any obstructions that may be in the way.
  2. Pour a pot of water onto the ground and place a large container filled with ice over the pot.
  3. Place an open container with a lid on top of the ice container and wait for the refrigerant to start leaking out from under the lid. Once it starts leaking, close both containers and wait for about 10 minutes for all of the refrigerant to escape from the car.
  4. Once all of the refrigerant has been released, close both containers and drive away from the scene as quickly as possible!
