If you’re like most people, you probably use Illustrator to create graphics for your website, brochures, or other printed materials. But have you ever considered using Illustrator to create graphics for your own projects? You can! In this article, we’ll show you how to expand an artboard in Illustrator so that you can create more complex graphics. To start, open up Illustrator and select the artboard that you want to work with. (You can also use the keyboard shortcut Command+A to open the artboard.) Next, click on the Expand Artboard button located in the lower-left corner of the interface (see image below). The Expand Artboard dialog box will appear (see image below). In this dialog box, you’ll need to specify the dimensions of your new artboard. By default, Illustrator will create a new artboard that’s twice as wide as the original artboard. However, you can change this setting if necessary. Once you’ve specified the dimensions of your new artboard, click on OK to close the Expand Artboard dialog box. Now your original artboard will be divided into two separate panels - one for each dimension that you specified. (See image below.) Note: If you don’t want Illustrator to create a new panel for each dimension that you specify, then make sure that checkbox labeled “Create New Panel For Each Dimension” is unchecked before clicking on OK in the Expand Artboard dialog box. Otherwise, each time that you expand or contract an artboard in future sessions, Illustrator will create a new panel for each dimension.) ..
