If you’re like most people, you probably use fonts all the time in your work—whether it’s in a document, on a website, or in your own projects. But if you’re using Adobe Illustrator, there’s a good chance that you don’t have the fonts installed. In this article, we’ll show you how to download and install fonts so that you can use them in your Illustrator projects. First things first: if you don’t already have Adobe Illustrator installed on your computer, go ahead and download it from Adobe’s website. Once you have the program installed, open it up and click on the “File” menu item at the top of the screen. From here, select “Open…” and then choose “Adobe Illustrator (.ai) Files.” Next, locate the file that you want to use the font in—in this example, we’ll be using our logo file—and select it. (If the file isn’t located within Adobe Illustrator’s default files folder, feel free to browse for it.) Once the file is selected, click on “Fonts” from within Adobe Illustrator’s File menu. This will open up a window that displays all of the fonts that are currently installed on your computer. (If there are no fonts installed on your computer, Adobe Illustrator will prompt you to install them.) To add a new font to your project, simply click on its name and then select “Install.” (Note: If you’re using an older version of Adobe Illustrator than CS6 or CC 2014+, some of these font installation options may not be available.) Once the font has been added to your project, it will appear as a typeface within Adobe Illustrator’s interface. You can now use it wherever necessary—in documents or illustrations alike—and be sure not to forget about those pesky quotation marks! ..
