If you’re like most people, you probably don’t think much about how your car works. Sure, you might know how to change a tire, but that’s about it. In this article, we’re going to show you how to disassemble a car so that you can fix or replace parts if they break. First, remove the key from the ignition. This will prevent any accidental starts while you work on the car. Next, remove the front bumper and hood by unscrewing the four screws located near the front of each piece. Be sure to note where these screws are located before removing them so that you can re-attach them in the correct order when putting everything back together. Now remove the two screws on either side of the windshield header and pull it forward until it snaps into place at the rear of the car. Repeat this process on the other side of the car. Next, remove both side panels by unscrewing their six screws from inside and outside of each panel. Again, be sure to note where these screws are located before removing them so that they can be re-attached in reverse order when putting everything back together. Now remove both rearview mirrors by gently pulling them out from their mounts and set them aside for later use. You may also want to take a look at your taillights now since they may need replacing if they’ve been damaged in any way. If not, just leave them attached for now and we’ll get to those later on in this tutorial! ..
