If you have an oxygen sensor in your car, you probably know how to clean it. But if you don’t, here’s how:

  1. Remove the screws that hold the sensor to the car.
  2. Disconnect the wire from the sensor (it will be black).
  3. Cut off one end of the wire and twist it around a screwdriver or your fingers to form a loop.
  4. Connect the other end of the loop to one of the screws on top of the sensor and twist it clockwise until it comes tight against the screw (you should see a green light). Now remove the screw and place your hand over top of the sensor so that your fingers are touching (the light should go off). Repeat with another screw on top of each Sensor.
  5. Put everything back together and reattach all wires as necessary (if there are any loose wires, they can be easily fixed with pliers).
