If you have a hearing aid, you may be familiar with the tubes that go into your ears. These tubes need to be cleaned occasionally to keep your hearing aids working properly. Here are instructions on how to clean your hearing aid tubes:
- Remove the ear plugs if you have them in.
- Locate the tube that goes into your ear. It will likely be a small, thin tube with a connector at one end and an ear bud at the other.
- Remove the ear bud by gently pulling it out of the ear canal.
- Carefully remove the old tube from your ear by using a pair of tweezers or a small needle-nose pliers (if necessary). Make sure to hold onto the connector end of the tube while you do this!
- Rinse off the old tube and connector thoroughly with warm water and mild soap, making sure to get inside both ends of the tube. Be careful not to let any soap get inside your ears!
- Put on new ear plugs if necessary and reattach the ear bud by pushing it back into place in your ear canal, making sure to secure it with tape if necessary (you may need two pieces of tape). Replace any torn or frayed plugs as needed. ..
