If you have an evaporator in your car, it’s important to clean it regularly. Not only does the evaporator help keep your car cool, but it also needs to be kept clean to prevent bacteria from growing and causing problems. Here are a few tips on how to clean an evaporator without removing the entire unit:
- Use a mild detergent and water mixture to clean the evaporator. Be sure not to use harsh chemicals or abrasives as this could damage the unit.
- Use a vacuum cleaner with the hose attachment to suck up all of the dirt and debris that has built up on the evaporator over time. Be sure not to over-clean as this could cause further damage.
- Place a pot of hot water on top of the evaporator and wait until it starts bubbling before using the plunger to suction onto any dirt or debris that has been missed earlier. Be careful not to over-suck as this could cause water leakage into your car.
