If you have an aquarium with live rock, algae can be a major problem. Algae grows on the rocks and can create an unsightly mess. There are several ways to clean algae off of your rocks, but the best method depends on the type of algae and your aquarium setup. If you have green algae, you can use a vinegar solution to clean the rocks. Fill a bowl or container with water and add 1 cup white vinegar. Swish the water around and then pour it over the rocks. Let the solution sit for a few minutes, then rinse off the rocks with fresh water. If you have brown or black algae, you’ll need to use a cleaner that is specifically designed for aquariums. Some popular cleaners include Tetra’s Safe-Start Algaecide or API Freshwater Cleaner/Algaecide. Follow the instructions on the bottle to prepare and use the cleaner. Be sure to rinse off all of the cleaner after using it so that it doesn’t damage your fish or coral." ..
