If your Stihl chainsaw is not starting, or is not running smoothly, it may be time to clean the carburetor. This guide will show you how to do it.
- Remove the spark plug and air filter.
- Remove the screws that hold the carburetor cover in place.
- Lift off the carburetor cover.
- Clean all of the parts of the carburetor with a solvent such as gasoline or kerosene, using a rag or a brush. Be sure to get into all of the nooks and crannies.
- Replace the parts that have been cleaned, and screw on the cover assembly. Reinstall the spark plug and air filter, and replace any screws that were removed in step 2 ..
