If you’re like most people, you probably don’t think much about cleaning your paint roller. After all, it’s just a tool that helps you get the job done. But if your paint roller is dirty, it can actually cause problems. Here are four tips on how to clean a paint roller:
- Use warm water and soap. Fill a bowl or sink with warm water and add enough soap to cover the roller. Swish the water around and use a brush to scrub the surface of the roller. Be sure to get into all the nooks and crannies.
- Use a vacuum cleaner with a hose attachment. If you don’t have access to warm water or soap, use a vacuum cleaner with a hose attachment to clean the roller. Make sure to use suction to remove any dirt, dust, or debris from the surface of the roller.
- Use an oven cleaner spray bottle filled with white vinegar and water mixture (50/50). Spray some of this mixture onto the surface of the roller and let it sit for about five minutes before wiping it off with a cloth or paper towel. Be sure to rinse off any residue before using your paint again.
- Use rubbing alcohol on a cloth or paper towel to clean off any residue from steps 1-3 if needed ..
