If you have an ignitor in your furnace, it’s important to clean it regularly. Cleaning the ignitor can help prevent a fire and protect your home.
- Open the furnace door and remove any obstructions.
- Remove the old ignitor by unscrewing it from the wall bracket. Be sure to keep all of the parts safe while you do this.
- Place the new ignitor in place and screw it in place using a Phillips head screwdriver.
- Close the door to the furnace and turn on the heat to full power. Wait 10 minutes for everything to warm up before starting the furnace again.
- Use a vacuum cleaner with suction to suck all of the dirt, dust, and other debris out of the ignitor area. Be sure not to damage any of the components!
