There are a few things you need to know if you want to black and white Photoshop. First, the program has two modes: normal and black & white. In normal mode, Photoshop uses the color channels to create images. The blue channel is used for the sky, green for plants, and so on. In black & white mode, Photoshop uses only the black channel to create images. This means that all colors are eliminated from an image, leaving only a black-and-white image. To start in black & white mode, select the “black & white” option from the “mode” menu in your toolbar. Then click on the “new” button to create a new image. The new image will be in a standard RGB color space. To change this space later on, just select it from the “space” menu in your toolbar and then click on the “change” button. Now that you have a new image in black & white mode, it’s time to start editing it! To edit an image in black & white mode, use one of two methods: selection or cloning. Selection means that you can drag and drop objects into or out of an image while it’s still in color mode; cloning means that you can copy and paste images into or out of Black & White Mode without having to worry about changing any settings first.
