There are a few things you need in order to become a race car mechanic. First, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Second, you must be able to pass a driving test and have at least three years of experience as a driver. Third, you must be able to pass an automotive safety inspection. Fourth, you must be able to read and understand technical manuals and instructions for mechanics. Fifth, you must be able to work with other people and be able to communicate effectively. Sixth, you must have the patience and skills necessary to work on race cars for long periods of time. Seventh, you should have strong organizational skills in order to keep track of all the tasks that need to be done on a race car. Eighth, it is important that you are comfortable working with high-pressure situations such as when working on engines or chassis. Ninth, it is also helpful if you can have some experience working with computers in order to help manage tasks on race cars.
