If you’re like most Photoshop users, you’ve probably got a few favorite shapes that you use all the time. Maybe it’s a simple rectangle or a more complex shape like an ellipse. But what if you want to create a custom shape? There are a few ways to do this. The easiest way is to use the Shape Tools (see Figure 1). Just select the tool you want to use and then click and drag in the desired location. You can also use the Shape Tools to create custom paths (see Figure 2). To do this, first select the Path Tool (P) and then click and drag in the desired location. Finally, release your mouse button when you’ve created your path.
