But what if you want to add a more drastic change to an image, or if you want to adjust the brightness or contrast of an image? In this article, we’ll show you how to add an adjustment layer in Photoshop using the steps below. We’ll also show you how to use the layers palette and other Photoshop tools to make our adjustments. First, open your image file and select the layer that you want to adjust. Then click on the Edit button at the bottom of the layers palette. In the Edit Mode dialog box, click on the New button and name your adjustment layer “Brightness.” In the Brightness field, enter a value of 100 in hexadecimal (or any other number that you prefer). Click on OK in the Edit Mode dialog box and then click on OK again in Photoshop’s main window. Now let’s take a look at how we can use our new adjustment layer in our photos. First, we’ll change its color by clicking on its color wheel at top left and then adjusting its hue by entering a value of -5 in hexadecimal (or any other number that you prefer). Next, we’ll adjust its brightness by entering a value of 100 in hexadecimal (or any other number that you prefer). Finally, we’ll adjust its contrast by entering a value of 100 in hexadecimal (or any other number that you prefer).
