Animal Crossing: New Horizons is an upcoming video game for the Nintendo 3DS. It is a sequel to the 2010 game Animal Crossing: City Folk and the 2013 game Animal Crossing: New Leaf. The game was announced at E3 2019 and is set to release in 2020. Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been designed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, who also created the games Mario Party 10, Animal Crossing: City Folk, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf. The game will be a new take on the series with a more open-world feel. Players will be able to explore their town and village in search of items and animals to add to their collection. The player’s house will also be different in each version of the game, with different features and designs. In City Folk, players had access to a kitchenette where they could cook food or do other activities such as playing music or reading books. In New Leaf, players only had access to one room which was called the “House”. The House allowed players to sleep, eat food, talk with other villagers, or use the internet if they had an internet connection at that time.
